• The Rose of Venus is a geometric pattern Venus makes with Earth over 8 years.​ The pattern is made up of 5 Venus cycles which take approximately 18 months each

• This is because Venus orbits the sun once every 224.7 days, while the Earth 365.25 days.

• The ratio of these two periods is 0.615, or about 8 to 13.

• Since the difference between 8 and 13 is 5, the path of Venus has a five-fold symmetry relative to Earth. This pattern is sometimes called the Rose of Venus.
